New Local Restaurant: Level at 69 West Street
Sharon New January 6th, 2010
A friend and I had dinner at a new local restaurant last night. I had read about it in a write-up in the Capital and decided to give it a try. It was fabulous. Level is a small plates lounge and so we studied the menu and began with a cheese plate, enjoyed the grilled cheese with lamb (really good), gnocchi with this incredible three cheese cream sauce which we used to dip the home-made french fries. We finished with an incredible chocolate/banana bread pudding. But here’s the best part: Level sources its ingredients from the farmers market and 14 local farms. In fact, you can see where your food comes from on the large chalk board which lists where they source their food. (Side note: Can you imagine what a list like this would look like in some of these big chain restaurants?). I will definitely go back. Lots. I had a nice chat with the Chef, Alfredo and met one of the owners, John Hogan. Level is hosting the January Green Drinks event next Tuesday, January 12th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Be sure to read the write-up, because I haven’t event touched on all of the other amenities Level offers. By supporting Level, you are helping our local farmers and our local economy.
