Leeward Market in Eastport has grass-fed burgers on the menu from beef that was raised in Anne Arundel County and also serve pastured eggs.  They host some local producers on Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon.  They have a great breakfast too – so stop in for breakfast and do a little shopping at their Sunday morning market.  Leeward Market is located at 601 Second Street on the corner of Second and Chester.

I recently transplanted on the isle of Kent, from Eugene, Oregon, where i served as a Master Gardener for Oregon State University’s Extension Service. I have a home that occupies a 3/4 acre lot consisting of a scraggly lawn. I’ve been authorized to transform this “lawn” into a Victory Garden at my discretion. I am wondering if there are any enthusiasts in the area who would be interested in helping me create a food-producing garden, in exchange for produce and the joy that this endeavor affords. Otherwise, I am very much wishing to meet like-minded folk to engage in conversation and good eating, to develop community. Many blessings!!

Thank you for linking to our website in your article on the Fresh presentation and Joel Salatin. We would enjoy being listed in your general resources section above. We deliver our oysters shucked and live to a local group Mondays and Thursdays in the Annapolis area and would be happy to do this for others. We have room on the truck. We also sell oysters directly from the Ranch as well as equipment for people lucky enough to live on salt water to grow their own.

Thank you again for the current listing.

You should add Real Food by Nina Planck to your list. :)

    Hey Sharon,

I thought I would add a suggestion to your “neighboring areas” and recommend Chestertown Farmers Market in lovely Kent County Maryland.

    Cheers!

I highly recommend Roots Market in Olney and Clarksville. The owners are true to thier beliefs and provide food from local sources when possible. They also own Bark which is a natural/holistic pet food store.
